This is taking the mick now....

£50 and I didn't manage to fill the tank up.

OK, so I don't ever get over 25mpg from that car, but even with my more regular 35/40mpg.... it's just too damed expensive.

I can't even cut down on useless journeys, because I don't make any. If I've got the time I even walk into town, which is an hour.

It HAS to come down soon... lots of people are starting to get simply priced out of business.

    Way I see it there's 2 options:

    1. Govt. takes a cut on duty on fuel...
    2. Govt. spends a bit of money on seriously promoting alternative sources, like bio-Diesel/Autogas/fuel cell powered vehicles, and makes it easy for everyone to convert.

can't keep it up or they won't be around much longer.

Now that's just it. I'd love to.

I'm not 100% apposed to large fuel taxs, so long as they provide a public transport alternative with the money they take (hang on..... I appear to be a socialist).

The thing is, the bus service that operates for all the outlying villages (and not all small ones) has the following time table.

A bus runs on market day (thursday) into town at around 10am and returns at 1pm

That's hounestly it... and I don't think the bus would even stop where it's supposed to in this area if I stood there.

Problem is that the boards they put up outside the petrol stations only have 2 digits, painted on full stop then another digit

So they cant go higher than 99.9 without changing the boards outside

filled my bike up a week ago and it was 95.4p for Optimax (£15 for a tankful) thankfully she's in the dealers this week.. so had a loan bike... so filling that up this week with normal was 95.4p! as opposed to the 99.9p for Optimax!

    bloody scandelous!!

mind you, the loan bike they gave me is a 1670cc!! does a little less than 30mpg when your pushing it!!

its not much better elsewhere. in france it was 1.35-1.45 per litre which pretty much works out squarely at 97p. thats for 95 ron!

    My thoughts. Although....

    a) There's nothing in my price/size range that'll do significantly better than my petrol unit

    b) The extra cost of swapping won't be offset by any savings made (seeing as diesel's 5p more a L aswell)

And the govenrments taking 47.1 from the price of petrol, not only that, we should apparently be grateful to them, they decided this week not to put on the proposed rise in fuel duty.

******** I just bought a new car and its costing me 45% more to fill up and the tank is apparently the same size. Mind you the engine drinks it quicker in this one lol

£1.01p per litre of optimax in Leicester ATM, what really drilled it home for me was the fact the litres started going up slower than the £'s
