    Gis' a lift

Well with all the fiddling ive been doing i thought i would invest in a new jack. My old one was a cheapy little machine mart one that barely could lift the wheels of the ground before topping out.

The new ones a proper bo jack. Lift the car so high it will end up in the sky!! and its got a superb foot pump up thing its so strong i lifted up the back of my dads mazda in just my slippers! Very handy for my narrow drive that is.

Yeah you just have to be sensible and only jack on the hacking points or subframes, or diff's.

I'm off down to Lidl next week to snaffle one of their £10 trolley jacks. My car weighs sod all so why not?

Proper bo long trolley jacks are a real pleasure to use though. I have had the priviledge of shoving one under the rear diff of Richard Burns' Subaru World Rally Car, and even a scrawny little sod like me could shove it a foot in the air with almost no effort. The real pleasure was taking the axle stands out once we'd put the 18" tarmac wheels on, twisting the shaft on the jack and hearing the semi-slicks squeak back onto the worshop tiles as it sat back down into a race pose.

    Little things please little minds.
