    The New Challenger

My fascination, and the thing I want most for 2009 (in my dreams)

It is VERY similar to the 1970 Challenger, my only gripe is about the taillight, but it still looks great!

Hopefully they don't butcher the concept for production like they did the Charger

I think a right hand driver is very likely, but I wouldn't count on it until at least 2010, as it isn't scaled for release in North America until late 2009.

Here is some evidence that Chrysler Group is expanding its UK production numbers, there are also rumors about of the Charger and Magnum Hemis going RHD by 2007

    Click

I had almost forgotten Hexus was UK based, I could use some history lessons I guess.

Incase I hadn't mentioned, the new Challenger will sport the first ever 10 cylinder Hemi engine, weighing in at a hefty 8 litres as an extra option. That means, gentlemen, an estimated 600-700 horses.

It's an amazing reproduction of the 1970, I can hardly believe it, and it will actually be an affordable alternative to other modern sedans. The only other things that catch my fancy in the muscle sector are the new Mustang, and the Charger Daytona.

Here's a picture of a 1970 Challenger, and the new Challenger together.

I've always been a fan of the Amercian Muscle cars (Although I was a Charger Man) and that new one looks really good.

I saw some Camaro Concpets a while back and they look good, we could be in for a good time in the near future!

Looks nice- but do the new Hemis still have an actual hemispherical head? It may have been good in the 60s, but pent roof chambers have been better since, I dunno, about 1975?

It appears not, the modern Hemi's are actually polyshperical, but they retain some notable characteristics of the older Hemi engines... read Wikipedia below.

What about suspension? Will it be leaf springs? :S

no reason why leafs are actually worse than coils - they both just give spring!

the new corvette uses leafs, and apparently works quite nice..

Errr no. Vettes use a leaf, not leafs. And independent transverse leaf setups are a world apart from leaf sprung live beam axle setups.

Coils tend to produce a better ride quality, if you want a LOT of debate over this visit any Land Rover forum.

    Now THAT looks nice.

Hope it makes it to production...

Saw a new Mustang the other day and wish I hadn't - it looks far better in pictures than in the flesh
