As if we didn't need more proof...

...some safety camera partnerships are totally off their rockers.

Imagine the chaos that will cause, followed by a LOT of undertaking.

To be fair the autotrader comment is by no way what the scheme says to do...

    http://www.doncaster.gov.uk/Living_i...Car_Scheme.asp

It says nothing about 3rd line at below 70.

    It purely says no speeding.

Shocking, not. Still failing to worry about distance between vehicles, lane discipline, bad road design and dangerous driving - all of which kill far more people than speed IMHO.

Guys, read the offical statement of what the scheme is !.. It doesn't not say anything about the fast lane!!!!. The FAST lane also doesn't exist, its the outside lane and has got nothing to do with speed in the eyes of the law.

yeah this is dodgy journalism spinning things at their worst. a safety partnership would never encourage driving at 70 in the fast lane as it may be against the law if you're not overtaking??

the only way to reduce speeds on a mway is to get a coppa to sit in the middle lane doing exactly 70mph so no-one can pass, or putting speed cameras up. i'm not sure what this scheme will accieve - asking motorists to put a sticker up to say 'i'm not breaking the speed limit' then not braking the speed limit - the sorta people who will apply would be those who woudlnt brake the speed limit anyway?

quite - and at what point is the guy doing 70mph going to have a chance to overtake ... which is what the outside lane is for (unless the traffic is really thick of course)

...oh I think we've got plenty of people clogging up our motorways by sitting in the middle lane as is, we don't need the police to join in
