Rubbish when it comes to buying cars.

My dad needed an estate. Searching autotrader within 60 miles gave around 35 hits, half of which where MPVs and 4x4s. Ended up getting a mondeo estate 1.8 lx (metallic gold ftw) for 2900. Searched autotrader with 200 miles range - can get a mondeo estate with slightly less miles, FSH, 2.0 ghia with full leather for 2k

But we did get our top price on the part exchange though.

Oh, and btw - number of mondeo estates within 40 miles of swansea under 4k - one. Its like they are extinct here!

when buying my mondie estate i found ebay was much better than autotrader - bloody hundreds on there..

what model year is yours? new shape i presume?

Thing about ebay and such - can't really afford to go round the country to look at them. Did go to Cardiff to look at a vectra and check out the garages but the vectra had cam belt failure and a new engine top and was leaking oil - so thought better of it.

When I was buying I went about 150 miles or more as I figured it'd be worth the £800 or so saving compared to Norfolk car prices.

My 99 Mondeo, with full leather, cruise, aircon, heated electric seats, full SH, exceptional condition etc etc etc etc was less than that...
