    so if graphs look like this - is it best when accellerating to let the revs run to 6.5ish, or change @ about 5 to keep peak torque

    I change at a smidge over 5k to keep the torque going. Hybrid turbo would mean there would be mega torque all the way up to 6.5k

    Guess what I'm buying next

    that torque is lovely.....

    minimum of 150lb/ft from 3600 rpm to 5200.....
    thats a fair old spread Lowe

    a really nice graph....but witha torque increase like a MOUNTAIN SIDE at lower revs, you SO DONT WANNA BE IN 5thby accident

    Its an immensely smooth curve down too......for the detail given (very high detail) its still very consistent...no hidden flat spots or suprises.

    Tis good fun, but as you say Zak, if you're on the wrong side of 3k then it's a slug, since it's working as a low compression 1.4 The turbo is on full boost by around 3.2k, but the fuelling doesn't kick over until a little later - this is because the carb is set up to work with a hybrid turbo and smoothen out the torque delivery a little.

    See, the torque coming off can be just as sharp as it comes on which can really throw the weight of the car around. This can make for an interesting experience if you lift off half way around a greasy island...

    So, with the delivery being a little higher it's a lot more driveable and smoother.

    Don't forget this is on standard internals as well. The only thing to be changed is the induction kit, a freeflowing 2 1/4" exhaust and a modified carb top and the boost.

    Once the new turbo goes on, expect the power to jump up about 30bhp+ more and the torque to jump up a little, but stay virtually flat to 6k or more.

    Then when the headwork and cam goes in.. well, we start getting silly. I might not get this far, it's blummin quick as it is!
