    Question Vectra warning lamp

    Hi all,

Wife just called telling me a light popped up on the dash, namely a little car with a spanner in the middle.
Anyone know what that one is ? How important is it ? Approximate cost for repair ?

    Thanks

think it means you're due a service. either that or its got a serious engine problem (and might go to limp home mode). what colour is the light?

Due for service usually comes up on the LCD as InSP or similar.

More likely it's an electronics problem and the car has gone back to default settings for mixtures/timings etc. Have you noticed any loss of power? Either way not a good idea to ignore - get into service. It's (probably) not going to drop on you, but you'll be running quite inefficiently.

That is, if the light is staying lit. Lighting up just when the car starts is normal.

yup its the engine management light
take it in ... with vauxhalls its usually the egr valve that goes and that light comes up
ive had 3 vauxhalls (Corsa, astra and vectra) all with the same light all with the egr failing

as kalniel said, dont ignore it, get it checked
