Anyone imported car bits from America

Started putting together a list of things for the engine build.... and the prices in the US are a LOT LOT cheaper than over here....
Ideally I want to bring a set of heads over
    http://store.summitracing.com/partde...DRT%2D19100112
As well as a roller cam http://store.summitracing.com/partde...2D11%2D713%2D9
    And roller lifters http://store.summitracing.com/partde...CCA%2D819%2D16
Just wondered if anyone had done anything similar - and it their are any errr backdoors for getting bits in?
Or do I bite the bullet and pay UK prices.......read Expensive

I had real problems with one US car parts place who sent the wrong parts twice. Luckily they just tried again and didn't ask for the wrong ones back. They also charged way too much for shipping. Like a lot of places they wouldn't take a credit card because of fraud, so I had to send an international money order, which added more to the cost and hassle. I wouldn't bother with it again, because in the end I didn't save enough money for it to be worth it, but it all depends how much more expensive the UK prices are.

Hmm - not sounding as easy as I first hoped then.......
Tuning bits for the engine im building are a tad expensive over here - hence why I wanted to import myself (cutting out the middle man)

Do you know anyone over there? Get em sent to them, then they ship them over to you as a personal package - would be loads cheaper than a business as you wouldnt have to pay import tax etc...

    Wonder if RocketManx could help!

Summit's a pretty popular and relaible all around speed store. Located here in my home State too
There's better places for speed parts here but they either specialize more or you won't find the on the web.

Here's a guy that does a lot of custom stuff and just builds engines. He's famous across the US and started out in a shop around this area. Don't know if you've heard of John Lingenfelter but he's damn good.

    Lingnefelter Performance Engineering

Here's the guys that my engines, Gaerte Engines, VERY famous for World of Outlaws Sprint car motors. Do a lot of R&D for other stuff too like the 4 cylinders they built for Sprinters. Earl, the guy that owns the place and the engine Guru extraordinaire has about 5 toatally tricked out 55-57 Chevy's with F-glass bodies, wheely bars and 100% custom BIG cube blown engines. The one he showed me has a 610 CI (if I remember right) custom made (by Earl) big block with a 12-31 suer charger and puts out over 1500 hp! He drags it too. Wouldn't believe it if you saw the guy. Super nice but wheres and orthopedic shoe on one foot and always wears a plaid shirt, glasses and tall and pudgy. Like the geek from school. But NOT a geek.

    Anyway enough rambling-

    Gaerte Engines

Either of these 2 places would be better suited to ship to you over there. Gaerte ships motors to the Sprint guys in AU so they know all about shipping over seas.Erics the parts guy tell him Pete Grimm sent Ya if you'd call 'em
