Buying 2nd hand car, what mileage shud I be looking for?

Hi all, after a bit of advice. I'm looking to buy a second hand car, and sifting thru the local papers have found a few. The car in question is a Fiesta, the new shape, so would only be a few years old. Is 41,000 miles a bit much? Its the cheapest one, and in sexy metallic black and 3 doors(which im looking for), but for £400 more there is one with 10000 miles (but dark blue and 5 doors :mad:). The 41,000 mileage one is also loads easier to collect.

Do those 30,000 miles really make the difference, and is it worth the hassle?

the 40k fester *should* be ok, if the vendor can provide a full service history (fsh ;)) with receipts and stuff - that sort of mileage usually mean cambelts and stuff like that, so check if that's been done recently - obvious things to look out for is rot on the body - espesh under the arches. The type of mileage matters too - if the 40k was all on the motorway - chances are the motor will be sounder than the 10k car that's been pootled round town by Granny over there, and take a mate who knows about cars with you when you check it out - and try and get a drive. at the end of the day it's down to you and your judgement, and obviously personal preference....
