Just found out that my VX220 needs 2 new rear wheels as they can split/shatter/break......

great!...

They don't even make my wheels anymore as they were for a Ltd Ed version and there were only 100 cars made with anthracite wheels.


So I waiting to see what Vaux customer services will authorise....
a) Provide 2 silver rear wheels and pay for all four to be powder coated
b) Provide a credit against a new set of wheels

Will be interesting to see what they do.

Yup safety recalls suck, albeit a lot less than getting acquinted with something solid at high speed.

You gotta insist on the anthracite wheels though, looks totally lush with the yellow bodywork.

Oh I shall, but as they don't make em, I will have to have all four (2new and 2 old) painted together so that they all match up.

Make sure they give them a nice thin coat of paint, you want to keep the weight down

Surely this is a problem for vauxhall to sort out, take the car in and see what they say no doubt they'll find a set of replacement wheels for you.

Also why is this restricted to the rears only, are the fronts a different make/size?

yeas..totally different size.

Manufacturer doest make the actual wheels in this case, so they'll struggle

DONT PUT ANY OTHER SIZE OR OFF SET ON....(but you know that already )

after the sh!t i have had from there customer service, i would demand they find you 2 exact wheels.

not your problem the ones they supplied might kill you is it ?

If they're unsafe and can't supply the exact same wheel it's tough isn't it. You could try sueing them, but I would only drive to court on differant alloys personally!

Pain in the arse to say the least though mate, give them hell and get the best you can out of them... demand 4 new wheels of you're choice and them coated.

After all, the ones that are already coated will look abit differant to silver ones. ( after they have been re-coated, i mean... ) Go with that anyways, then you have 2 spare fronts
