So the one of the fuses for my car alarm heats up (foxguard about 10yrs old) and this fuse controls the flashing indicator. So, when it heats up a lot, the indicator gets stuck in one position so I decided to totally remove that fuse that controls the indicators for the right side and the left side works with the alarm as normal.
I did consider using a higher amp rated fuse but not sure. Any suggestions?
Heat in an electrical circuit indicates a bad contact (high resistance) and/or excessive current draw.
Or you've got a short somewhere.
Also I wouldn't change the fuse for a higher rating as all your doing is masking the problem and increasing the likelyhood of a fire as the higher rating will allow more current to be drawn before the fuse blows and if the wiring that the fuse is protecting isn't rated that high then the wires will melt and could start a fire.
have u checked the negative conection for bad connection??
