    Vaux Customer Service Shine Again!

    My VX220 is off to Luton (Vaux Tech Services) to have a new rear clam under warranty.

    So as a courtesy car.......

    a corsa? Nope
    a Meriva? Nope
    an Astra? Nope



    A Vectra VXR 2.8 V6 Turbo will be mine for the next 10-12 weeks whilst they sort my car out.

    So far I'm very impressed at the process.

    By all accounts they do a cracking job and go through the car with a fine tooth comb actively looking for niggly things to fix

    I'll let you know how I get on with the new Vaux Super reb mobile!

    Wow, thats some courtesy car!

    Only thing is, when you get the 220 back you'll be disapointed with the straight line speed

    Ahh, but I'll have the vectra for some of the winter time and will be glad to get the VX back to go round corners! lol

    220 is quicker to 60 but the vectra will pull away soon after that (At an educated guess)

    Yeah you're probably right, much more torque and higher gearing I'd guess

    if its one of the new ones, you'll be ok, iirc they very recently put 25 more bhp and tweaked the sus so it actually goes round some corner..

    i think the vx220 will be quicker at all legal speeds, but the power delivery is very different - the v6 will pull from anything, but the vx needs its gears wiggled a lot

    nice one! can't you blag a monaro though?? 500bhp, 500torques, at stock. dribble

    Nice, Volvo do similar (subject to a car being available - go in with a v70, come out with s60, v70, s80 etc) but you have to book months in advance and the service costs a fortune

    Oh, btw, did you get the wheels sorted in the end?

    Picked the Vectra up this morning, and I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised.

    Don't get me wrong, I don't think I could handle a low end Vectra, but the VXR version is quick, comfortable and sounds lovely... it would sound even better with a Sports Exhaust!

    Nice.. might have to try the Luton vaux instead of my regulars then. I just get clapped out corsa's - probably deliberate so I think that my car's feeling really tight and well serviced

    I goto Luton all the time, leaving next to it near enough.

    Owning a 2litre astra I can tell you they are utter rubbish every time I go in. And I have to go in ALOT, for various stupid problems.

    Only reason you get good customer care is you have one of their 'best' cars, they need to keep people happy who they think will buy another one of their top-end cars I suppose.
