Large watercooling cases

My modified Lian Li PC 75 has lasted well but now looking to get a more modern replacement.

I'd prefer to move away from single top mounted rads to get more radiator surface.

Looking at Corsair 800D, Silverstone TJ07 as viable replacements, anything else recommended?

Corsair 800D, Silverstone TJ07 are the best large cases for watercooling. Otherwise its expensive like XSPC, or ugly like the Xigmatek-Elysium. Silver stone have larger case than the TJ07 but it is like £400.

I've got a 700D - same as 800D except no hot-swap bays and no windowed side-panel (and thus a bit cheaper). It fits a 3x120mm rad in the top. Happily cools my current system (see <---- My System) absolutely no problems at all. GPU temp never goes above 40 degrees C with full load on CPU and GPU.

If you are going with a 700D/800D, it's generally a good idea to reverse the rear 140mm fan to make it an intake, in order to get more cool fresh air going to your rad at the top. You can also mod relatively easily to put an extra rad down at the bottom, or a 140mm rad on the rear intake (assuming you reverse the fan I mentioned). However, I haven't seen the need for extra radiators.

Plus, since it's such a massive case, it's nice and easy to work in.

i have the 800d, 120.3 rad in the top and a 140.3 mounted to the back standing off about 2 inch. it uses the mounting holes for the rear fan and one at the bottom as support. its got 3/4" outlets at the back so no hacking needed.

Is the PSU compartment in the 700D / 800D big enough to fit a rad on its side?

Antec 1200 was my choice

Antec do a special rad for it but I did a rear mount on mine (120x3/120.3)

no but you can mount one on the 120mm fan located between the psu and main case, its got 2 pipe holes for it.

This demo system for photos has two 480s and two 240s in it.

We didn't want to go crazy.

For those concerned with aircooling, the case has comes with three 120mm fans mounted in front. That aluminum fascia is "floating", like a speaker grill over a high-end speaker. The surround area around that is about an inch on each side, and almost two inches from the front fans, which gives them plenty of room to intake cool air, and the front aluminum fascia comes off easily to change the front dust filter or access the three 120mm fans in front.

Pre-drilled for radiator, of course.

Some details will come out at CES, though that is not the official launch date. Availability is going to be later, with the date still to be determined on how long it takes to fix a few last minute issues related to fit and finish.

Price? Over $300 under $400.

The 900D has a ton of mesh on the rear and the top, it has a ton of air volume internally. It has a very flexible type of air intake setup, so you can customize your system to your preferences. It'll work very well out of the box for a mainstream user, but again, it's designed to let you optimize it for your system. I highly recommend that those of you who buy one play around with the drive configuration and fan configuration until you find performance numbers you really like. For some, that will be the stock config. For others, they're going to load it up with fans (the one in the photo I posted had 23 fans in it) and watch things happen.

The top is pre-drilled for 280mm (or 420mm) radiators as well as 240, 360, and 480mm radiators

Assuming 120mm fans:
3 in front, 4 up top, 1 in the rear.
Hard drive cages can also feature a 2nd 120mm mount on the other side, for push-pull hdd cage cooling.

Assuming 140mm fans:
0 in front, 3 up top, 1 in the rear.

The bottom chamber can be used to affect internal temps as well, if you want to use one of the bottom side radiator mounts as a cold air intake, it would add a lot more fresh air to the main chamber.

Each bottom side mount can fit either 4 x 120 or 3 x 140, but the PSU encroaches into that area on one side.
