It's definitely a novel design, though I'm a tad disappointed at the material choices, at over £100 I'd have hoped for some aluminium rather than just steel and plastic.

I think one of the reason was, this case falls under our Carbide series and to be consistent under that category, which focuses on case air flow, the materials will be a combination of steel and plastic like the 500R and 400R.. If it did go under the Obsidian series, then Aluminum will most likely to be present like all our Obsidian series cases.

If space wasn't such a premium with my office space, I would certainly grab one of these straight away! May have a shuffle around and make excuses anyway...

    Re: Corsair Air 540

Love the look of this case, got one ordered for my new build.
Can't make my mind up on the cooling though. I was thinking of a H110 push/pull on front with 2 140mm as top exhaust and a 140mm as rear exhaust.
Where could I buy spare dust filters from?

    Re: Corsair Air 540

Like I said on the HEXUS review, lovely looking case that probably would of trumped my 500r if it were for sale at the time, but it's the wrong way round. Rotate the whole thing 90 degrees right(so the drive bays and vents are horizontal, window on top) and it would be a stunning looking case along with the performance. If you ever do an obsidian version, that's how you should do it.

This is the set up what I really have in mind, where the case is laying flat on its back with window facing up, I think that would look awesome. The only thing that I may have to add when If ever I go this route, is probably add some sort of feet on the solid side panel, just to keep the case off the ground for an inch or two, probably half an inch just to create that separation.

I thought they were distributed accordingly depending on the regions demand. Let me see if I can you an update on this.

    Re: Corsair Air 540

I was able to get ahold of one a few days later, there seemed to be a big delivery and all the usual places got the stock in on the same day. Lovely case.
