    Silverstone TJ09 Questions

to anyone who has or has used this case quick question to run by ya.

i am having troubles installing any card. What happens is the front edge (where the card meets the case) gets stuck at position 1 (see the pic linked in a min). In order to get the card inserted properly i need to force the bottom of the card being installed back into the case by pushing on it (see number 2 in the pic here)

i have tried unscrewing the motherboard and inserting a card when its "loose" and still the problem persists.

while it isnt the end of the world. its quite a frustration given how expensive the case was

just wondering if anyone figured out how to fix it

    cheers
    Jon

oky I have a TJ09 and managed to fit everything perfectly (including a dual slot 7800 and single 7800gtx

are you using the mobo risers?

and are you pushing the card in from both sides at the same time/..

yeah mobo n everything is sat on the risers as usual..

as for inserting the card.. i have tried every combination of putting it in.. front 1st.. rear 1st.. both at same time.

it just gets caught on that lip @ position 1 and as such need to force that back in. This was for both the little asus sound card thing up teh top and the EVGA 8800gtx with the AC3 cooling solution (both sides of that card needed to be "pushed" in order to get the thing in.

normally if i had this in the past i just unscrew the mobo slightly to give it some flex and put the cards in then.. but alas this isnt working this time around.

If its a commando, I had problems the same as you but I just used two raiser screws and that did the trick.

ha see now i used to do the "lets just bend it with some pliers" trick on my old case and cards n stuff.. but given that perhaps i may want to try and use a "step up" on this gfx card (if they ever release the 8900 in time) i was not about to start bending it..

just seems a little crazy to me that we spend all this cash on the case/mobo n cards yet.. still have to kinda bodge it to get it fitting without problems.

yeah i know that isnt in the spirit of all the hardcore modders n stuff.. but seriosuly.. the case manuf and card manufs talk right? j/k

just seems a bit wrong.. bending a £400 card to fit into a £200 case.. no?

not a huge bend, just get the plate in line that slots in..., I had to do it for an old £10 firewire card...
