    Water cooling newbie

    Hi all

So yeah I've decided to go with water cooling to try and make my PC as quiet as possible with still allowing me to OC it quite a bit.

So far I've started to do some research and have heard that Danger Den are the best company for water cooling supplies atm.

My kit (not yet purchased any):
CPU Block DangerDen TDX Block (LGA775 Processors)
GPU Block DangerDen 8800 GTX Block
Pump Swiftech MCP655 12 VDC Pump
Radiator Swiftech MCR320-QP Triple 120mm Radiator
    Resevoir Swiftech MCRES-Micro Watercooling Resevoir
    Liquid Fluid XP+ EXTreme

I might not get the GPU Block as it costs £93 from Overclockers, but I would like to here everyones views on it.
    ---------------
    Edit:
Was thinking I could get: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=403499

My kit (not yet purchased any):
CPU Block DangerDen TDX Block (LGA775 Processors) Have a look at Swiftech apogee GTX, D-tek fuzion, much better blocks.
GPU Block DangerDen 8800 GTX Block dump this and go for the EK GTX block. I find the EK blocks to be better made than the DD ones.
Pump Swiftech MCP655 12 VDC Pump Good choice.
Radiator Swiftech MCR320-QP Triple 120mm Radiator Have a look at the Thermochill PA series of rads, especially if you are going for a quiet system.
Resevoir Swiftech MCRES-Micro Watercooling Resevoir Fine
Liquid Fluid XP+ EXTreme Nooooooooo. Grab some zerex and some deionised water (distilled if you can get it), and some dye if you want it.

I might not get the GPU Block as it costs £93 from Overclockers, but I would like to here everyones views on it.

A proper watercooling setup will give better performance than that passive kit.

Looks fine just swap the gpu block for an ek model (£60) much better performance, go with thermochill for the rad the best by far and swap the fluid for some f1 or mct 5.

Yup, go for an EK 8800GTX heatsink. Good choice of other components though

Looking to get a D5 pump myself soon...

I can source all but the EK 8800GTX block

How easy is it to add an extra bit to a watercooling set up once its all up and running?

    Edit:
CPU block Swiftech Apogee GT Extreme Performance CPU Waterblock
GPU block Will be added after once I have enough.
    Pump Swiftech MCP655 Pump
    Radiator ThermoChill PA120.1
    Resevoir Swiftech MCRES Micro Reservoir
    Liquid Alphacool - De-ionised Water 1 Litre
    Tubing Alphacool - 1/2" Clear Tubing (2m)

    Do I need anything else?

Everyone has their own way when it comes to watercooling, so here is what I personally think...

Radiator HWLabs Black Ice Stealth GT120. That PA120.1 rad is double the price of the HWLabs one. It won't give you £20 worth of extra performance and its a much bulkier rad than the Black Ice One. Just to put the price into perspective you could buy a Black Ice Stealth GT360 (Triple) for more than 10 quid less than that ThermoChill one. Your paying for the name. The money saved could go towards the Laing D5 Vario. The same pump as the Swiftech but it is slightly updated and allows you to vary the flow.

Resevoir Use a T line - Thats all most reservoirs are , are cylinders with elaborate capping's on their ends to allow you to connect some tubes. Personally I don't see £15+ in them. I just had a quick look and most of the ones on coolercases are over 20 quid. Sheer ripoff in my view; I'd rather have the hassle of having to mod a milk bottle myself than pay that for one of them. Unless you can get one on the cheap then don't bother with them. You can use a T line and it costs pence. As long as you check the water level in it now and a gain you will be fine. I've only needed to top mine up once since installation last august.

    Thats what I think anyway.

See here for the PA series rads vs the rest, theres no two ways about it, they perform better than anything else out there at the moment. The black ice triple is beaten by the PA120.2

The MCP655 has the variable speed, I just sold one on here the other day

Fair enough you've annihilated me on that. Thats all I have left to cling onto is that their still very expensive and bulky rads imo.
