    I used it to cut the holes for my 6x9's in my (ex)mini's parcel shelf no problems, and that's pretty thick steel. I've done maybe a dozen case windows with it too and all sorts of other stuff and it works great.

    It looks similiar to the one I use
    Tis the one i have, index stock it as well, might be a fiver more in their stores but im not sure. It has 5500rpm and 33,000rpm so you have a slow and fast only, the one which is about £70-80 has the fully variable speed. I just use it on fast for cutting metals and slow for soft plastics and it seems to be fine for me, any other things i can just hand cut or for sanding just break out the sanding board and files.

    This is the closest thread I can find. Does any one know where to buy spare cutting disks for dremels? I mean the 20-40mm diameter ones reinforced or just normal ones.

    Did you get them from there site or shop? Ive looked in my local B&Q and they had none. they used to have something like 30 disks for £5 on there site when I bought my dremel clone, but they disapeared from there soon after and I regret not buying some.

    I got a dremel and it's notably superious to my mates dremel-clone. My dremel has far superior cooling and is much more variable. However it still got hot cutting my window for my case! The trick is to go easy on the think and take breaks.

    I gather smoke isn't a good thing either - so if you see any of that - probably a good idea to stop.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    found this a few nights ago. They sell dremmel stuff like cutting disks. I got a pack of 50 23*0.64mm disks for £8, aswell as a dimond coated disk for £5.

    NOTE: THE COLLETS THEY SELL (OFFICIAL DREMMEL ONES) DO NOT FIT B&Q DREMMEL CLONES!!!

    Dremmels arnt any better than normal ones. They might have slightly higher watage motors but I dont see any reson to spend 4 or 5x more on one. Infact given the chiopse Id chose a cheap crappy dremmel and a drill press stand for it over any stupidly priced real dremmel.

    With dremmels/similar tools(cutting disks) take of small amounts at a time in many passes, dont try cutting all the way through in one go!!!

    I wouldn't worry too much about the cutting speed of any Dremel/clone - go by the power rating in Watts. The higher wattage one will have more power. It's like comparing 2 cars - a 1.6 in 5th gear might go faster than a 2 litre in 4th gear, but it's not more powerful.

    I just bought (today infact) the B&Q dremel clone with the flexi shaft for £30 - seems ok, variable speed and 140W. Seems to cope with cutting and polishing aluminium which is what I want it for so
