    New Asus P5K3 Deluxe / Core 2 Quad Q6600

Right, building my second decent machine... But have come to an abrupt halt:

CASE: Thermaltake VA8003SWA Aluminium Armour Super Tower – Silver
PSU: Enermax Galaxy 1000W EGX1000EWL ATX2.2 Modular PSU

The PSU doesn't appear to fit.. I've tried taking off the PSU backplate, but it won't squeeze in (about 0.5 cm overhang)... tried backing it up into the front, then move it forward to it's space, but won't make it... Taken out the rear HDD Caddy, taking out the top fan... still can't fit it in... HELP!!! Anyone have any experience with these two pieces

Galaxys are pretty oversize aren't they? I think i've seen a build with one, where basically they ended up mounting it with the arse hanging out of the case. Not too bad if you aren't moving it about too much

Galaxy 1kw psu's are mah00sive things, and there are a hell of a lot of cases out there that wont fit it.

May be time to think about sending it back/selling it, get a corsair hx620w instead, that'll handle anything you throw at it tbh dude. I've had one running a quad, gtx sli, 4gig ram, 4 hdd's, 2 optical, fan controller, floppy, 4 cathodes, 8 fans, and a pump... It didn't even get hot, and the fan was still innaudible... awesome bit of kit for the price.

Re: New Asus P5K3 Deluxe / Core 2 Quad Q6600

I'm veyr sorry, I should have updated this thread... I ended up taking the front panels off and feeding it through that way, fits perfectly now.. and as it' so efficient, when your not thrashing it, it acts like a much smaller psu..
