Anybody using this case? What are your thoughts?
I am torn between this and the Antec p182.

Depends what you're after really, I'd have to say IMO overall the CM690 is the better case which is why I went with it.
There are a few minor issues, the side panels can be tricky to attach (i'm saying up to 30 seconds instead of perhaps less than 5 seconds with other cases), the top panel can be tricky to remove, but you only remove the top panel to fix fans.
Many pros though
I'll defend the other one then
P182 is the best case i've used in a long time. Very subtle looking, absolutely silent with the right stuff inside it
It's bloomin heavy so don't plan on moving it around a lot but for a silent build with awesome cooling it has to be one of the few greats.
HEXUS review will be out shortly on the 690 - it arrived in the labs this week.
Matt
Please do not message me about Scan Free shipping, I no longer work for HEXUS.net
just quickly read a review of the 690.. doesn't look half bad especially for the money
I'd still get a P182 I think but if you need lots of hard drive space then the 690 seems like a very good way to go.
Ah it's so difficult, i like the look of the Antec more and i'm guessing it's a quieter case but then i'm also guessing temps might be a tiny bit hotter. I wonder if hexus could compare the two?
I like the coolermaster because it has room for a few more fans and i know it will be a dream to build with as it's a bit more roomy inside.
I shall wait on the review from hexus to decide.
how quiet a computer is largely depends on what components and fans you use.
even though I'm using 8 fans, they are all either 5V or 7V, a gentle hum with superb airflow, I can ramp up select fans to 12V for added cooling.
I sleep with my case about 1 metre from my bed it is that quiet.
Side fan mount for VGA is a godsend, the PSU mounting is also very good, air coming out of my Corsair is actually cool to the touch.
Looks are down to the person I guess, CM690 is acceptable, I don't like PC doors either.
What temps do you guys get with this cases, with the CPU overclocked and running at full load?
temps will vary depending on what you're using to cool, room temp and how good the ventilation is around the case.
using a Q6600 B3 @ 3.24GHz 1.38V and Thermalright Ultra120X (Yate Loon D12SL-12 7V)
X1900XTX (HR-03 + 120mm fan @5V)
Room temp is ~24C
My case is stuck in the corner of my room which gets nearly zero circulation.
I'm about 65C loaded whilst using the Folding SMP client.
Folding + gaming the CPU temps increase upto 68C
I had an E6600 2.88GHz 1.325V, same everything else, cpu temps was 43C loaded.
