    Question Akasa Mirage-62

    Hi all

I have been looking for a new case and the Akasa Mirage-62 is ticking the right boxes for me so I am looking to order one from Scan today.

I noticed that people are advising on changing the fans for a higher quality alternative like the Akasa Ambers or the Sharkoon golfball fans just wanted to know if these are still the fans of choice?
    Any advice appreciated thanks

I also found a nice review here which helped me decide on the case.

    Re: Akasa Mirage-62

Yes I got it I also ordered the amber fans at the same time.

Its quite a big airy case but maybe could have been a little taller as I am unable to slide out the motherboard tray with my Ultra 120 Extreme heat sink mounted vertically

I have also made a new hard drive cage to accept 4 No HDDs instead of 5 in order to spread the dives out and give more room for air flow, the new cage also facilitates acoustic mounts which keeps my Raptors nice and quiet.

    Re: Akasa Mirage-62

Did you bother to compare the stock fans with the ambers? or did you put the ambers straight in?
Shame about the 120X not working with the mobo tray..

    Re: Akasa Mirage-62

Funnily I swapped them straight out and mounted them with acoustic mounts so I am not able to compare.
They look very similar and I dont think you would be going far wrong if you decided not to swap them out.

The 120X is working well I just need to remove, It! before the motherboard tray.
As you can see it is close to my PSU

    Re: Akasa Mirage-62

I was going to ask for a pic but you've very kindly provided it

The HD cage is from another case?

I use a Ninja in my case and didn't have problems removing the tray (thank God)

No amjedm I made it at work, it is actually made from 1.5mm stainless I would of made it out of 1.5mm Aluminium but we did not have any in and I didn't want to wait! and it is difficult to cut aluminium on a laser.

    Re: Akasa Mirage-62

I have just updated my system to the left <--- it had my old rig showing.

    Core Temp 0.95.4
    38c Idle
    66c load stock speeds
    Sorry about the image size

As you can probably see the abit guru that came with my motherboard is a country mile out.
One thing I have noticed is my 120x is missing the little holes at the top and bottom for the clips to accommodate the full depth of the fan so I had to chop out the corners of my fan
I went for the 120mm skythe Kama Fan because of the PWM type setup but only runs at 1200 rpm Max i May invest in a Skythe Flex 1600rpm at a later date but they only come with a 3 pin connector

Just wait for now I am not seeing any problems at 1200rpm although when the PC is cold I get a fan fail alarm as the fan spins around the 300rpm warning threshold.

Maybe Skythe will produce a Kama PWM 1600rpm version then I shall definitely get my hand down
