    LED Question

I'm working on a small detail mod, replacing the standard power and HD LEDs on my Coolermaster Ammo 533.

Where can I buy very bright white LEDs and blue LEDs with a softer glow?

Does anyone know what sort of LEDs are used by Coolermaster in the case I have and what voltage is supplied to the power and HD LEDs by the motherboard? I'm trying to work out if I'll need any resistors to alter the voltage supplied.

Softer glow? Less lumination you mean?

I'd just use a simple ceremic preset pot.

you won't get any that are log and cheap (Which is a shame, as human's percive light log) but you will get a multiturn. This will let you calibrate them to your liking.

The ATX spec i don't think mentions the voltage, but sure as eggs are eggs its going to be a 5V. Personally i'd always limit the current with a resistor, even thou i doubt its needed, i'd sling in a 220ohm or similar just to stop the unlikely from ever happening. (220ohm V=IR, 5V rail, drop 1.7v-2.5v, will be about right.).
