Looking for a light weight case

I've had a Cheiftec Dragon for around 5 years now and its starting to really show its age so i think its about time that i get a new one.

The only thing is that i do tend to take my PC up and down the country to many lans so it would be nice to finally have a light case (as i have also just got rid of my old 21" CRT!)

I know you are going to say that i should go SFF but im a little worried that my system wouldn't be able to keep its current overclock in a SFF Case.

Im currently running a E4300 @ 3.3ghz nice and stable on Air but then that thanks to a lot of nice airflow!

Does anyone know of a nice light case? or should I keep looking at SFF and MiniATX cases?

Considered getting a case with a handle? You could fit one yourself or get a case with a prefitted one like the Coolermaster Ammo 533.

Yeah - i was thinking of getting a carry holder for it.

Must admit i've looked at the Coolermaster Ammo before and it did look like it would travel well.

Re: Looking for a light weight case

I got a Silverstone SUGO SG03 for Christmas, and I am very happy with it. It cools a lot better than my Antec Aria that I was using before. I am now getting an idle CPU temp of aground 37C vs 55C in my old case. Under load it maxes out at 55C. (vs 75C) This is with an Athlon 64 with a 89W TDP, and a Zalaman low profile cooler. (I did fit a second 120mm intake fan, but that was easy). There is a Hexus review of the case.

I am not sure you gain much by looking for a light weight case. My case was nice and light when It was empty, but by the time I had built it up including 3 HDDs, and a quality PSU, it weighed a ton anyway, and the effect was amplified by it's small size.

Having said that, I am very happy with my new case, and I would recommend it to you.

Re: Looking for a light weight case

I've got an Ammo 533 at the moment, hence my suggesting it, it's a nice roomy case and I have no problem carrying it up and down stairs on a regular basis with just one hand. It's got a very solid handle on it.

Re: Looking for a light weight case

    I needed a light case, got the Lian-Li PC-A05B.

The whole system now is lighter than my old case weighed on it's own.
