Now a PSU: tier1 Silverstone Zeus best 4 money?
I've nearly asked about every single component, now the PSU:embarrassed:
Silverstone Zeus PSU's are on tier 1 of that johnnyGuru list - 85ZF, 75ZF, 56ZF but not this 65ZF, am assuming it's the same..
650W Silverstone ST65ZF-GM SLi Dual PCI-E EPS12v ATX12v v2.01 PSU
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
it's also about the same price as the CorsairHX 620w which I've heard people here say is overpriced.
Corsair is modular and looks nice and I do tend to get swayed by things like that and so it would make more sense to get this one instead?
thanks

What is your proposed system?
620-650w is an awful lot for most PC's.

Fixed image link
or maybe not.... its in the right tags now but still isnt displaying....
Anyway assuming your not running anything silly then I would say that a 500W PSU would be sufficient Corsair HX520 is a nice PSU with modular cables.

Re: Now a PSU: tier1 Silverstone Zeus best 4 money?
Right now I can see your spec 500W will be ample.
Since your CPU isn't in stock atm I would wait for the Abit IP35 Pro to come back on Scan today only was ~£90 a few days ago. Unless you really want ASUS or the onboard WIFI?
Oh and while the is nothing wrong with the Ninja as a cooler have you considered the Thermalright Ultima 90? With a 120mm fan of your choice its quiet and one of the best coolers you can buy. And a quite a bit smaller than the ninja which can be of benefit in smaller cases.

this is the thing, you think you've picked a decent component, can now forget about it and move on, but then.. :) where I started looking Gigabyte mobos were popular aswell as Asus but some people seemed to have some probs with the former, and although Abit (yet another choice:confused:) seem to be 1st choice here Asus still gets approval and so I think that's good enough or I'll never get this done :angst: I've just seeen not so good reviews of the Ninja at TomsHardware and somewhere else, but what do you do.
I do want your advice though:)
I'll have a look at that cooler then, and I'm thinking with the PSU I'd rather have a good one even if it has more power than I need if there isn't an equivalnet of lower wattage
Re: Now a PSU: tier1 Silverstone Zeus best 4 money?
The Corsair PSUs are highly reguarded they are good quality pieces of kit and come with a 5 year warranty they are also as silent as its possible to be, I have one and know a number of other forum members do as well and have not heard of one going wrong so far. The HX series are manufactured by Seasonic if this helps put your mind to rest a bit as to the quality.
Enermax are good quality units, but they are one the whole slightly noiser and more expensive. XClio have had good things said about them (in reviews and Blitzen is an advocate of there quality for the price).
As to CPU coolers the Ninja is a great cooler but it is large and people sometimes have trouble fitting it properly. The Thermalright Ultima 90 will fit in anything (my TJ-08 for example :D) and as I just bought one and fitted it without a hitch can say its a quality piece of kit, easy to locate and fix down firmly.
