    PSU - Power consumption

    Question:

A PSU rated at say 520 W v/s one rated at 400 W. Both used to power the same configutaion.

Does it mean, the power consumption will be more from the higher rated PSU?

(sorry I've got the tree-hugging bug)

    Re: PSU - Power consumption

All boils down to their efficency (80+ etc..) and whether they have an active PFC I believe. This means that they only use the power that they require, they simply have 520 or 400w available to them when required.
