My Lian Li - Warped !!

I really am not having a good week at the moment, finally got round to putting my i/o shield in my PC as I didn't do it for some reason when I built it last year, only to find me Lian Li in that area has warped and twisted so it won't fit

Glad I still had my Chieftec Dragon that almost got taken to the tip last week.

Have to confess that was my sole complaint of my A70B too - the I/O shield part didn't quite line up with the motherboard ports. To be fair though, I've no idea if that was ASUS's fault for the I/O shield (Maximus Formula), Lian-Li's for the case or a combination of both being slightly out. The way ASUS have been going I'm inclined to blame them more than Lian-Li.

All the sockets on the board work fine though - the ever-so-slightly out I/O shield doesn't stop USB pens and the likes from going in straight.

It was fine with my previous build in there, the only thing I can put it down to is the fact that I have either been a bit heavy handed with it, or the heat has warped it.

None of the ports would line up right in the Lian Li with the shield on, so it's now resigned to the scrap pile of cases we have in the garage and it will be destined to the dump.

I shall carry on with the Dragon till I can afford to buy a replacement for the Lian Li, looking at getting an Eclipse 62 or an Antec P182. That said the re-spray of the Dragon is quite tempting, want to spray it black.

I won't be buying Lian Li again in a hurry.

I forgot to put in my I/O sheilds.... is it a big deal?

Which Lian Li was it, and was it only the IO shield area which was warped?

It's a PC7+ and as you look at it, it's on the right hand side, I'll take a pic tomorrow when I'm out in the garage.

I've always found that installing the IO shield without any add on cards installed helps, the main problem being that ali flexes easily and putting in a card and lining up the screw hole for the card if the mobo is mounted slighty out will cause the entire back of the mobo tray to flex.

I had the case pretty much stripped right out there was nothing in it at all, and thats when I saw it was warped
