Lian Li PC-A05 Power Supply Airflow

I'm very keen to build a PC with a Lian Li PC-A05 case but was a little concerned about airflow into the PSU.
I have a Seasonic with a intake fan on the top (as opposed to near the connector's).
It looks from the images that I have seen, that the HDD bay would completely obscure this intake.
Could anyone offer any first hand experience of this case to comment if overheating is a problem.

    thank you

Could you not use it upside down, so the fan was on the bottom. There would be a gap that way I would think.

this psu has it's fan on the bottom so I assume it works

Thank you very much, I had not considered that. Was that picture from a review?

I got it from image search but I have read reviews

    There is this user one
    silentpcreview.com | View topic - Lian Li A05B Review

the PSU again has the fan on the bottom

    EDIT: not techpowerup it's here
    Lian-Li PC-A05 Mid-Tower Case - Articles / Reviews | TheTechLounge

I was considering this case when I was building an SFF but as that was using a uATX mobo I decided there were cheaper solutions.

Re: Lian Li PC-A05 Power Supply Airflow

I'd read those review but hadn't appreciated the construction of the corsair PSU's.
As you say I think my Seasonic will be happy in at least one orientation.
I think all that remains is parting with some money and eagerly awaiting the parcel courier.

    thanks again

I've got it and it's a great case. If you're still not sure there's a stupidly long forum thread in [H]ardforums somewhere. The only thing I would say is that you either need a slot blower or to cut some sort of venting into the top of the case as heat from the graphics card can get trapped there. I used to have a slot blower, but now have 2x 120mm fans on top in preparation for the possibility of water cooling at some stage.

And I was close to believing you own at least 20 cases

I was eyeballing the A05 for some time as well, but then I decided against it. The price for which it is sold, simply does not suit me. Some of these aluminium cases are ridiciulously expensive, especially if you compare the prices to vendors from Germany.

Re: Lian Li PC-A05 Power Supply Airflow

I have just ordered the case in from CCL Computers
Lian Li PC-A05B Aluminium Midi Tower - Black

Never used this company before but they had the case for £51 which seemed too good to be true so I hit the order button. Also getting a bezel for the DVD drive to make it look really smart.

Re: Lian Li PC-A05 Power Supply Airflow

I've got one of those cases, personally I removed the HDD cage and shoved the HDD into a 5 1/4 drive cooler. One other thing worth considering is putting an air vent in the front. I find it useful in the mornings for warming my feet up

I've used CCL and they are excellent. You can even talk to a real person if you have any issues

That's good to hear thanks. Always a bit worrying when you use a supplier for the first time.
I've found my own set that I like for various reasons and a converse set which I have taken umbridge against and hence don't use any more.
Will be placing the rest of my PC order with Scan today as their today only section seems to have every component in I want. Weird - they normally do that the day after I order.
