Re: upgrade

A reasonable gaming rig for circa £500 would look something like this:-

Case ---------------- Antec Three Hundred
Power Supply ------ 520W Coolermaster Real Power M520 Modular PSU
Motherboard ------- Asus P5K-E
CPU ----------------- Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 Wolfdale
Memory ------------ 2GB (2x1GB) Corsair TwinX XMS2 DDR2 PC6400 (800) CAS 4-4-4-12 DHX
Graphics Card ------ 512MB BFG Tech 8800GT OC
Hard Drive --------- 500GB Samsung HD502IJ Spinpoint F1
Optical Drive ------- Samsung SH-S203P/BEBN

Let me know if you want to spend more and I'll take it up a notch.

Re: upgrade

$500 for a gaming rig... so approx £270....

straight copy off one of my other posts:

Barebones: here Asus T3-M2NC51PV

CPU: here AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+ <<<needs bumping up a bit

HDD: here Western Digital WD800AAJS <<<prolly want more storage

RAM: here OCZ 1Gb DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 <<<prolly want 2GB

DVD: here Optiarc AD-5200A-0B <<<it be fine

obviously lots of it needs making better but it's a starting point which totals £200 so £70 to make a few vchanges like bumping up RAM and Proccy
