Silent Hard Drive coolers

Looking a silent hard drive cooling solution and silence.

My options are to by the alphacool Double water block enclosure as my rig is all pretty much water cooled or something not water cooled.

I was looking at the scythe Himuro, but there seems to be alot of negative talk about hard drive coolers that don't have any air flow.

Please note there is little air flow in my case, as there doesn't need to be..

Anyone have any thoughts.

Why do you want to quieten your hard drive?
(By the way, silence is an absolute, there are however degrees of quiet on the road to silence).
Have you considered buying a quiet hard drive instead?
What is it currently mounted in (ie the case)?
Have you considered those rubber strap things (easy) to hang them from?

I think the general opinion is that they aren't needed unless in extreme situations. The case does a good job of dissipating the heat, so long as the drive isn't suspended.

Hard drives are made to work in a case situation with little or no air circulation, if you have a vent nearby that should be more than sufficient for the harddrives. (unless lots of harddrives or raptors)

As you probably know most air hard drives coolers are noisy because of the small fans. Personally I just have a large small RPM fan blowing air over my drives.

This is probably what I will continue to do. Currently all installed in a Thermaltake Kandalf LCS, which the hard drive cage is at the back and has a dedicated 90mm to push ait out the back. Only down side to using this option is the PSU can't get the best flow of air into it.

I am thinking of modding the case and adding a 120mm vent in the bottom of the case pushing air upto in the front drive bays.
