As my PC sits fairly close to me, and my new WDAAKS makes a bit of a noise, I'm looking at something like the Nexus Drive-a-way internal enclosures.
Does anyone know of any other (cheaper) ones that don't cause the HDD temps to soar?

It's a bit difficult, as you need airflow to cool them, and airflow equals gaps for noise to get through.
What do you mean by "noise" - whining, vibration from seeking, or spinning noise? Whining needs to be enclosed (== high temps), vibration from seeking can be sorted by resting them on rubber/Sorbothane, spinning noise is another gap-reducing enclosure exercies too.
The cheap-ass option is to put them in a 5.25" bay suspended with rubber or other stretchy material. Remember rubber will eventually go brittle though.
use rubber mounting grommets or suspend the drive using elastic bands or summin, cos that will get rid of any vibration noise, (unless the noise is actually the drive mechanism) it should shut the drive up![]()
Zalman ZM-2HC1 heatpipe (HDD) cooler?
I have 2 80mm Sharkoon 1000s that intake air over the HDD ( its the only one in my case) so it stay at around 28c just now which is great.
Its not vibration, I have grommets on it already, as far as I can tell its only the seek noise that I hear ( my case has a side window, possibly why I can hear it)
Looking at that Zalman, I can't see it actually reducing any noise, it doesn't really cover it enough.
