hi guys,
need some advice, my case fans are driving me nuts. I have a 830 nvidia case with 4 fans so I am contemplating to get either a scythe kama meter multi function controller or a Zalman ZM-MFC2 Multi Fan Controller
Anyone have any one of these? any advice on which is better or maybe some other brands/types?

I have the akasa fan control pro (4 fans) and it works a treat.
It gives you 4 temp probes too which can be handy for HDD temps.

I have the Scythe works well as far as fan controllers go display is nice and the choice of 3 bezel colours and 7 (i think) LCD colours (all in the one unit/box) is a nice feature as it means it will fit in with almost any colour scheme. Has 4 temp sensors as well which are quite fragilebut work as long as you don't squash them! The volume control is an unknown to me as I don't have it connected. All in all I would recommend it.

do you mean that your current scythe only lowers voltages of all the fans together? as oppose to individual fan control?
No, both models reduce speed on all four seperate fans connected. Just the new one can drop the voltage down to 3 volts.
Most fans wont even spin up at 3V tho, i think its below their minimum value.

no one have or like the zalman? i can get it for like £25 which is quite cheap compared to scythe
if the fans already turning, you will find it will work at lower power than if its still.
the problem is if you put 3V across the stationary fan, you will find that it just gets very hot, as its not got enough power to overcome the inertia, and you risk damaging the stalled motor.
Its often more fun to design your own fan controller, to work exactly how you want. If you want any pointers on that, its quite easy.

so how do you do that? because iv used up all my budget and havent bothered to get a fan controler (was going to use the one that came with the motherboard) and also it would be a good potential A level computing project for me to do
do those huge nobs push in when not in use as i need a flush solution for my cosmos case ?
