    New Case

    Hey all

As some of you may remeber I was looking for a new case a while ago and StaffsMike suggested a few cases, thanks for that.

Since then I have managed to get some money together to buy a new case eventually.

    I have a budget of £100.

I want a case that provides enough space to fit what I currently have (See My System on the left) plus one or two more hard drives and abit more free space just in case.

Obviously am looking for the usual stuff, decent build quality, good airflow, somewhere to hide cables etc.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions within my budget?

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: New Case

No prizes for guessing what I'm gonna suggest.

    Antec 1200

Novatech have them at £105, has good airflow, will take quite a few drives. It's made of steel so it's heavy but the build quality is good. The mobo tray holes are a godsend. Makes hiding those cables ever so easy, vented pci blanking plates too to let that heat out.

    Re: New Case

Yup, I started building in my Antec 1200 yesterday and it is AWESOME!!!

It looks so cool also... Couldn't be more perfect...

Well the Motherboard could actually work but thats a different issue...

Can take a total of 12 drives - With any number of HDD's and Optical drives...

    Re: New Case

I was looking at the 1200 and it looks very similiar to the P182 if I am remembering my cases properly but yes I did see your log and I loved the look of it lol.

    So far Antec 1200.

    Re: New Case

Well having both the Eclipse and the P182 I'd take the P182 every time

Cool, quiet and very subtle looks which suits me.

No idea what the 1200 is like for noise but it's certain a damn fine case from reviews.

If you fancy saving a bit of money the coolermaster CM-690 is a great case on noise and cooling At £50 it has to be one of the best bang for bucks cases out there.

    Re: New Case

Thats not a bad looking case mike and not bad on cost either.

Am assuming as you have mentioned it, everything I have and want will fit in it?

Also, what is the cabling management like within this case?

    Re: New Case

    Yep no worries there.

I've heard a good tip for this case is taking the side panel fan and place it in bottom fan space. This makes it damn near silent and helps with the bottom to top air flow which is becomming quite popular for logical reasons

The only thing that feels cheap on it is the buttons but this is a fairly minor niggle with an otherwise great case. Scan often sell it for £45 on today only to.

It has the P182 style behind the mobo cabling, decent enough drive management and with a fairly typical PC built in it, it was damn near silent when I used one.

    Re: New Case

I know this is an old thread but it saves me starting a new one.

I think I have finally found the case I am going to buy and it is: - This one

With some fans from this page, not sure which yet, probably the ones that push more air: -

    here

For cooling, how does this sound, the fans at the back pulling air out, the fans at the top pulling air out, the fans on the front and side, pushing the air into the case?

    Thanks in advance

    Re: New Case

I don't know anything about that case but i'd look to buy the fans here
    http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/...me.php?cat=885

Either the nexus or the scythe slipstreams. Both amongst the best for price/noise/cfm

The Cm-690 would probably still get my money but it did look a hell of a lot better at £45 and not £63

    Re: New Case

Cheers mike will keep that site in mind when it comes to ordering.

Ok I think am going for the case above and some of these fans: -

http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/...cat=885&page=1 - probably 3 as the case comes with two and I have two 120mm Scythe S-Flex sitting around doing nothing.

I should be able to fit these in fine with my hardware and show provide plenty of cooling.

    Re: New Case

Just been looking on the Cooler Master website at the 590 and it looks like to add an extra fan to the front of the case am going to need a second 4-in-3 module, does anyone know where I can get one?
