    Quiet fans for PC-78

Right, I'm building myself a file server using Lian-Li's PC-78 as a case. I need to find some fans to go in it. As it's only going to be hosting files and won't be over worked airflow is not a primary concern, but noise most certainly is.

Just wondering if anyone out there has any suggestions for which fans to use. I'll need 6x80mm and 2x120mm case fans. I will be hooking them all upto some form of fan speed regulator also.

    Thanks

    Steve

Do you need all those fans? I would just get 2 80mms and 2 120mms instead tbh.

I need the 4 80's at the front to cool my HDD's, will had 10 in there by the summer so want them actively cooled.

But I do see where ya coming from, I don't really WANT that mant fans in there myself!

It's a pity you can't get one (massive) 160mm fan to replace the 4 x 80mm at the front. AFAIK you can't get DC fans that big (and AC fans are a *bit* dangerous...)

Just looking at maplins now to see if you can get anything...

Delta do 172mm fans but they don't have box frames like normal - they're cylindrical.

PDF link for 25.4mm deep fans:

PDF link for 50.8mm deep fans:

Best one there is 325cfm (though it's only available as a 24V)
