    Memory: Price/Efficiency

At what point is it OTT memory wise in a system with Ms OS 64bit?

Is there any point in going over 4GB re efficiency and price?

If i increased the memory from 4 to 6 or 8GB would i see much diffference in speed / efficiency?

Rig is sometimes used for video encoding but mainly for playing music and watching videos.

    Thanks for looking and commenting.

It's OTT depending on what you're doing with it. If it's for performance then 4GB is decent for Vista, 2GB for Windows XP any more is efficient depending on what programs you're gonna run.

If you're doing video editing then get as much ram as possible.... they're one of the few programs that will actually beenfit from more ram

None.. after 4GB Vista won't be any faster. It's the apps that will utilize that extra ram which will gain the most performance.

as most of the above have said generally 4gb is fine its what im moving to from 1gb after i get a motherboard sorted

if your into demanding apps like video work, cad, rendering etc then more ram will really come tinto play, can always check the task manager and see what sort of usage you have
