    Alternative esata card?

I have an esata card on order with SCAN (Highpoint Rocket Raid 2314LF) but it's been out of stock for weeks with no sign of it becoming available any time soon.
I picked it primarily because it was recommended by the manufacturer of the enclosure I also have on order (Proavio editBOX 8PM). That manufacturer also recommends the Sonnet Tempo E4P card but that doesn't support RAID 5 which is something I'd like to experiement with in the future.

Can anyone suggest another card with similar functionality to the Rocket Raid card that I could consider?

    Thanks, A.

if im guessing correctly the array would most likely use sas connector. there are a few cheapish sas-raid cards on ebay for around £100 - £150. that they would go perfectly with. something like the Dell Perc 6 or hp smartarray p600 would suit perfectly

    Thanks for the suggestions.
I've since emailed Scan and they said they're now expecting the original card to be back in stock around the 29th. For the sake of another week though I think I'll wait for my original choice.

    Re: Alternative esata card?

I thought I'd just draw a line under this by revealing how it ended (sort of).

Placed first ever order with Scan on 4th August.
Time passes, hear nothing from Scan.
Email them 3rd September and get told there's a delay but they're coming in.
Time passes, hear nothing from Scan.
Phone them 2nd October and ask what's going on on. Get told they should have been there 3 days ago but they're still coming.
2 hours later get an email saying the item has been discontinued by the supplier, please pick an alternative or refund.
Email supplier at 11pm asking if the item is being replaced by a new model and if so when.
Supplier (USA) replies within 3 hours sounding a bit puzzled saying the item isn't discontinued.
Phone Scan today with above info and they - in a very disinterested voice - tell me that they're discontinued to them. Pick alternative or refund etc.

On the whole, it's not been a very satifactory introduction to the Scan shopping experience.
