Oh and the original Flex heatsinks are ok for all 4 slots as long as the is a small gap between each slot if they are touching then the sinks are to wide of course you can always turn one pair of sinks round so its not a problem. The Flex 2 sinks are on the other hand enormous and made of aluminium which is a no no for me, mixed metals bad!
Tell that to my Ballistix Tracers. Literally burned myself by trying to remove them after switching the PC off, I wasn't imagining it'd be so hot.

I never noticed the original flex, the annoying thing is it is only available in 1GB sticks and the Flex II is the 2GB stick version, so quite as useless as the Flex II

and yeah the mixing of metals is bad, I wouldn't do it. Although I don't mind nickel plating on the outside away from contact of the liquid. Just my bastard ram doesn't want to do DDR 1141.

Oh yes by nice ram blocks I mean nice looking, that things ugly!

    but thanks for the link.

Ah but who needs more than 4GB of Ram anyway? and the Flex 1 sinks were copper so you could even use then in a loop Its whats in my system now DDR2-1150 at 2.1v not in the water loop though couldn't think of a sensible way of attaching them into the loop with them needing 1/4" tubing. Maybe if I ever change case I will have a play with them again perhaps on a seperate loop with the NB.

Oh and if you have the Flex sinks (like I do) you can always remove them and move them to new memory is what I think I may do in the future, if or when I make the move to DDR3 unless some nicer RAM blocks become available I agree the current offerings are not the most attractive.

Oh and Aquacomputer make a ram block as well, shame its aluminium really... http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_7768.html

You bitch! I might just get those flex's to use their ramsinks. Although the teeny tubing is annoying, and I prefer having my OCZ XTC Cooling the ram.

Re: New G.Skill GT1 ram ... made just for me =D

Well I got my 4GB of Flex for around £55 which made it a bargain currently not water cooled due to tubing issues didn't want to put my whole flow through 1/4" pipe just think of the pressure drop so that meant having a parallel loop and I couldn't find an easy way of routing it in my case, but still maybe in the future I will get a little pump and a 120mm rad and attach the RAM and NB on their own loop or actually do the calculations to work out the perfect parallel system to achieve the right amount of water flow down each branch... Water cooling seems so easy until you go and make it complicated! But of course that is where the fun is

Ooo you can get DDR3 Flex kits with the old heatsinks still only 1GB sticks mind.

Re: New G.Skill GT1 ram ... made just for me =D

the 2x2 Gb Flex-II's were only £99 when I bought them, and they are still £99 so I should be able to sell them for close to that.

The reason I never bought copper ramsinks before is because premium DDR2 ram was affordable enough anyway, and I didnt have so many copper loops when I first buit my PC. It was after I got the motherboard and those Zerotherm graphics cards that I thought - 'The only thing that isnt covered in copper pipes is my Ram', but I already had Flex-II and there wasnt much better that I could buy back then.

Now I found faster DDR3 ram for just a little more then my Flex-II's. Funny thing is that the DDR2 needed 2.1v for 1150 Mhz and huge ramsinks, the DDR3 only needs 1.5v for 1333 Mhz, but looser timings. Add the copper ramsinks and 1.8v and I should be able to get them up to Cas 7 1333 - 1600 Mhz, or so I hope. I'm also prepared for X58, I'll just need to buy one more ram module whenever I choose to upgrade again.

I found those Xilence ones, but I dont think that the copper pipes can be adjusted to use all the ram slots, so the Thermaltake ones win, and they are bigger and flashier =D.
