Hi
I'm thinking of spray painting the inside of my Antec 300, but not really sure on how to go about.
Would I need to sand down the inside and prime it before i spray it?
Also what kind of spray paints should I go for?
and tips welcome
Thanks

If you're gonna put primer then sand it down with 600 grit or maybe less, then coat it with primer, then coat it with your colour of paint, then give it an acrylic (see through) coat to make it shine if you want.
If you don't want it to be complicated go get a spray paint can from B&Q or or a DIY store ones that don't require primer (Plasti-Kote) and then spray it straight onto it, make sure to clean down the surface though. Still works that way too.

Nah you don't really need to, if it's a small jobby. If you wanna go all pro on us then you could do that
Thats the spray paint, that'd probably match the outside of the 300 case as well. A gloss one would be shinier should you want it. Two coats would be fine I'd say, if you have enough in the can. Light ones that is. Make sure you got your masking tape (if you want to save on the tape use newspaper in between large areas etc). My friend and I spray painted his case with this Plasti-Kote stuff and I started scratching at it straight after spraying to see if it would come off but it didn't, this was just a minute after spraying, so it's quite solid stuff. It's obviously not going to be as durable as the pro method but that method is used on cars and by the time that yours starts peeling off or deteriorating I'd think you'd have moved case by then![]()

Bill's has already been mentioned, but these are the case painting guides/articles I have saved in a text doc:
Bill Owen (MNPCTech)'s guide on how to 'Spray paint your PC case and give it a mirror finish'
Shatterstar's Painting Guide
BoxGod's Case Painting 'How to' [101] (this one - and even the main site, is throwing up a 404 for me now?)
Spooky's Computer Painting Guide
How to paint your computer case (Part 1)

How to paint your computer case (Part 2)
How to Modify Your Computer: Painting, Cutting, and Lighting
Just reading those should keep you going for a while
It would be an idea to print them out if possible though![]()

Here's some basics.
1) Strip it down, remove everything possible, esp power buttons, leds, usb/firewire/esata, case feet
Spray paint/air brush actually goes a very long way, up to 2m and you really don't want a fine coat of paint on your connectors.
Solvents in paint and rubber can have issues sometimes.
2) Work in a well ventalated area and ware a mask (the cheap dust masks are fine if you're not doing this sort of thing often)
3) Lots of thin coats not 1 think coat, keep the can far away, a good 12", it makes thin & even coats easier to do.
4) Matt vs Gloss, while gloss is shiney, matt is far more leanient to uneven coats and hide mistakes better.
EDIT: One other tip, if you sand it down, clean it well. my tip here is put you case in the shower, rinse it, then go over it with a clean sponge/cloth and cheap green washing up liquid (you don't want the moisterisers or purfumes in expensive stuff) then rinse again.
