    The reactor pc project

    I'm modding and painting the new "Reactor" PC. The Reactor immerses it's hardware components in non-conductive liquid coolant. Read More on HEXUS

    Re: The reactor pc project

    I decided to go with a Nuclear Fallout theme. Imagining it was used in the field by the military for remote detonation of missles or bombs. I'm modding the back access panel. Yesterday I played around with some different ideas for either a window or exhaust fan. Here I'm using a 240mm cooling fan

    Re: The reactor pc project

    You'll want to get a radiation symbol on there
    I'd also consider rubberiseing the shiney plastic outside.

    Re: The reactor pc project

    slight off topic side note, Bill have you used plasti-dip or a similar rubberised coating before?
    this is the sort of stuff I mean http://www.plastidip.co.uk/index2.cf...ducts&prodId=1

    Oh and from what I saw of the reactor pic's looks like they have a few blue LEDs on the motherboard/coolers, would be good to swap thoes for green LEDs.
    Maybe get a UV LED/light in there or is that moveing too far into radioactive waste storage looking?

    No, I haven't, usually automotive paint only on cases.

    Yes, I also want to swap out those blue leds

    Quick question how heavy are they? watched the youtube video and they don't look light when empty let alone full of fluid.

    100lbs that's 45.36kg in metric. Guess you don't have to worry too much about someone walking off with one.

    Unless it's on wheels
    I can see why the price for one of those is so much now, the delivery costs'll be massiv!

    1lb = 454g
    1kg = 2.2lbs

    Re: The reactor pc project

    And I thought my HTPC case was heavy!!

    http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_1276.html

    No idea what the weight is fully loaded with PSU, heat pipes, 2 hard drives in silent cases, optical drive, motherboard and a couple of expansion cards. Should really weigh it sometime.
