Wow, it would suck you in if you stood next to it!
put some neons in the case and have a strobe light show
seriously.. keep all pets away from this case!
any newborn kittens will be sucked straight into that!
is it even worth having a fan that big?
you can only cool things to a certain point. and i'm sure 250CFM is WELL beyond that point!
I can see someone loosing a finger in that thing, and you'll probably have to start it up manually haha

I suppose it depends on the size of the case doesn't it?
I just had a mental image of an aircraft engine sized fan - haha!
Or an air con machine
From what I've read in magazines, big fans are normally rubbish. They hardly ever move as much air as they say, the blades are hardly angled and they produce hardly any air pressure. A good 120mm is normally better than a fan this big - unless it has a good review like the 200mm in some Antec cases.
You will move more air with a bigger fan (all other parameters the same). On the other hand you can move the same air with less noise if you choose to.
Not always. Bigger fans are often lower quality and/or have shallow angles blades which move hardly any air. They need to spin very fast to move reasonable amounts of air - this leads to them being noisy as they often use motors which simply aren't powerful enough for the application. Big fans are often just marketing gimmicks, but of course there are exceptions - the the Antec Big Boy fan for example which is a 200mm fan and is really well designed. Unfortunately, the same often doesn't apply to the monster fans which fill a case side panel - I've read plenty of case reviews to learn this.
nice idea badly done imo
Exactly. I think it's just psychological really - it's a big fan so it must move alot of air.
