    power switches

    hi

    does anyone know where i can buy power siwtches for computers from? ie the bit thats on cases that connects to the mobo so u can switch on the comp.

    hoping to mod an endoskeleton of an old compaq pc, but the switches on it dont work

    Odd, it's not normally a problem. unless it's a really old AT not atx case.
    To start a motherboard all you need to do is short the two power switch pins.
    I've done this before when testing, just using a screwdriver to bridge the two pins to turn it on.
    You should be able to pick up a switch at maplin but in all honesty I've got no idea what type you'd need.

    its a 9 year old compaq 7464 case, but the front connectors are as odd as the case itself, all the connectors are fused toghther, i cut it up so i could fit it on the mobo, but it wouldnt work,

    ps, those vandals switches look like they need diy wiring...............not good

    yep you're going to have to buy a soldiering iron and soldier
    it's really not that hard to do, kustompc also sell the connectors and wire as well.
