Noisy Bad Airflow is a Silverstone SG3

    Lo dudes.

I have, for over a week, struggled to get a Silverstone SG3, (which has the PSU on it's side, in line with the cpu) to run cool and quiet.

The Intel heatink was noisy, and revved very high (nearly 4000rpm) and it was pretty horrible.

I ordered a basic Akasa heatpipe cooler from Scan for just over a tenner, and have fitted the fan upside down on it, so that it sucks air up from the cooler, and fitted a psu with a huge extractor fan built in, that also sucks air into it and therefore the same direction as the cpu.

    and it's worked a treat

So, thought I'd mention it incase anyone else struggles with it.

It's a quad 6700 and im running 4 versions of CPU burn in at the mo, while typing this and 1 houe in and it's fine and dandy.

I have fitted a speed controller and am running it SLOWEST setting to test stability. So far, goooood

with fan speed on LOW (which it still is, 100% rock steady, 4 versions of CPU Burn in running and a rather jerky HEXUS) the only thing I can hear is the cheapo 2600 radeon fan
