How do you feel about your PC Case?

Bit of a random thread, but i wanted to know that the case you get for all your goodies, does it make you feel like your hard earned money is worth it? did you get the case because it was a budgeted one, or it came like that? and have you ever upgraded a case?

what i mean is that if i had all my expensive hardware in a cheapo case e.g. the ones with the excessive poor Blue LED lights, the flimsy side panels and poor quality build.

We bought our case for 3 main reasons, #1 the price was good, #2 it also came with a PSU which was enough for our needs and helped us save more money for the other parts, and #3 it fitted what I wanted looks wise, black and simple.

Saying all this though, I would like to get a bigger case as ours is a Mini Tower (on the larger side) and it's pretty much packed up to capacity, wouldn't be able to get a newer and larger GPU in there, or any more drives.

Well, for me, a case needs to have good air flow, big enough to upgrade into it, good build quality and aesthetically pleasing.

I have the Antec 900, ticks all the boxes.

Does the SE make you feel special when you see yourself in it?

I have a P182 and Akasa Eclipse 62. The eclipse looks.. rubbish but I like that. It's huge and looks like an 80's POS

Bought my case upgrade here on the forum

and it is great

upgraded from a TT Soprano DX that was absoloutly pants...

Opps I knew I forgot something - a Antec NSK 4480 Mini ATX Black (with 380 EarthWatts PSU).

Thinking about getting a bigger Antec case sooner or later (P182 maybe?)

Last time i bought a case i bought a Antec Sonata, because:
- We happened tog et is on special at a not to bad price.
- Quiteness was an issue, and it stated it was good at this.
- Certiainly it has a 120mm case fan and decent front vents.
- Also the rather natty slide-load drive bays and rubber mounts.

Review? Disapointed.
- The Supplied PSU wasnt very quite, and a year later failed.
- The supplied 120mm fan was also noisy, clicky, so was replaced.
- The drive rails rattled untill you put a lenght of parcel tape down them.
- You cant change the PSU without taking the cpu h/s of drilling out some poprivets.
- And it picks up fingar prints like a bummer, and the door open the wrong way for having it on you right.

Meh. Second hand cases for me now.

My current desktop case was chosen out of necesity. There aren't many cases that would fit in the place I had for it. ended up with an Antec NSK 2480 MATX Desktop Case

It's a bit of a pain because of the size, has to be low profile cards, but other than that it is an excellent case, very quiet too despite having 4x 80mm fans in there.

You are talking about the 1480 aren't you, not the 2480? 2480 is full size cards and 120mm fans.

Also currently using the Akasa Eclipse 62 and it has a really horrible (for me) hum, caused presumably by the hard-drive vibrations
Same in all the Lian Li's I've made builds in - really annoying considering these are supposedly premium cases
Have built a PC in the P182 as well - best for silence by a mile
Will be trying the P180 mini next...

Yes, you are right. That kust looked about right on the eBuyer site. Should really pay more attention, especially when I already have it in my system spec in my profile
