    Ideal Water Cooling Kit for Isotope iX Case

    Hi guys/girls,

    I'm using an Isotope iX Case for my next rig. As a complete water cooling noob could anyone give me some advice as to which kit will fit/be best for this style of case?

    I'll be looking to cool;
    Q6600 - looking to overclock this a tad
    4870

    If possible i'd want to keep the reservoir internally. I've not really got a budget.
    Cheers,

    Got a link to the case and its dimensions?

    If you are watercooling to get really low temps then for a Q6600 and a 4870 you are going to need at least a triple 120mm rad and more would be better, more is always better (well the is a limit but you wont reach it easily ) If your water cooling so that you can say that you are then a duel 120mm would probably just about cope but the temps wont be the best.

    Here's a link to a review that i've found. On page 3 of the review it shows a water cooling solution fitted into the case. I'm not sure if this setup would be powerful enough for what i need it for? Or what the make of the reservoir is?

    The dimentions of the case are - 330 x 330 x 365 (WxHxD mm)

    Modd1uk thanks for fixing the link.

    Onto the watercooling of that case, it will be a challenge is what I will say first! The one that was reviewed used a single 80mm rad that will cool a quarter of your CPU maybe...

    I think to watercool that case properly is going to require some serious work and without detailed plans for it I can only give very general ideas. I would think you could probably mount a double 120mm radiator in the section normally reserved for hard drives (you would obviously need to find somewhere else to mount the drives) and maybe a single 120mm rad in the space in front of the PSU you would still then need to find space to mount the hard drives pump and reservoir.

    All in all I think that it will be a lot of effort to mod this case to fit decent watercooling it may not even be possible at all.

    The only other consideration would be if you went with a µATX motherboard this would open up some more space for another rad perhaps, you could fit 2x 240mm rads in the case that would be sufficient to cool a 4870 and a Q6600.

    As I say without more definite dimensions its hard to work anything out exactly.

    Thanks for the help Webby. It looks like i'll have to resort to air for this but i'll know more when i've moved all of my components over.
