Some help needed choosing a new Case.

I posted a while ago asking for some help in choosing parts for my new build, and I got some very useful advice.

Since then my build needs have changed somewhat and I find myself needing a new case.

I currently have a Thermaltake Tsunami, which I am donating to a friend who is in dire need of a new PC.

I like the case but found that I am struggling for internal space somewhat in the last few years (my 7600GT is WAY too close to the back of my HDD's for my liking) and I'd like to put as much breathing room as I can.

With that in mind, I've had a look at some cases at Scan and was hoping for some opinions and advice on which one may suit my needs.

    Coolermaster CM 690

    Antec 900

    Akasa Infinity

    Antec 1200

The first two might be a Bit too small (I am planning on putting a 4850 or 9800GTX+ in there and I want to have a mind to perhaps having a larger GFX card in future upgrades), and the 1200 might be a bit pricey especially when compared to the Akasa.

The Akasa looks good but HUGE, and for that price I'm wondering where the compromises are. Does anyone have any experience with that Case?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

    What about the Coolermaster HAF-932?
For the money I'd have to say its the best case there is (@Scan.co.uk), looks might not be to all tastes but internally and cooling its unrivalled.

CM690 is a decent case from that list.

Antec 900 lacks a number of features, also internal space isn't that good.
    Akasa no idea.
Antec 1200, black interior is brilliant, cooling is not bad (not as good as the HAF though), but otherwise for a full tower the internal space and cable holes are not that great, also rather pricey now.

Re: Some help needed choosing a new Case.

The 900 is larger esp longer than the cm690
Main problem is the lack of holes in the motherboard tray for cable routeing.
ps The cm690 cannot use ide hard drives in it's drive tray system, so if you're planning to re-use an ide hard drive look else ware. infact to the coolermaster 590
If you do then if possible get the versions of the cm690 or cm590 with the window side panel or buy one seperately.
ther reason is that the mesh fan grill on the window panel is far better than the punched grill on the normal one, you do lose the option for the 2nd side panel fan but it's no big lose as if you have a tall cpu cooler you cannot fit a fan there and even if you don't the 2nd fan really doesn't help the overall cooling of the case much. (I think is causes more disruption of the air flow of the rear and top fans than actually helping)

Re: Some help needed choosing a new Case.

Be warned the antec 900 is very loud when fans are set to full and without dust filters you will have to clear it out every few mounths, my bros pc i build him i used it and yea its great at cooling but after 4 mounths there was so much dust in it the temp on the CPU went up 10C :O. The Coolermaster HAF-932 is a very good case has great cooling and is alot quieter, also look at the NZXT - TEMPEST as its great value and a bit quiter than the 900.

Have you looked at lian li?

Do you want a full tower or a midi as you appear to like both

I personally find coolermaster offers a far greater build quality than Antec

Also seen as you have looked at the antec 900/1200 have you looked at the 902 aka baby 1200
