I had a couple of Liberty 620 units blow up a few years back which put me off them, one was catastrophic it blew out the mains tripper in the whole house, I couldn't believe it at the time so I plugged it in again and watched as it exploded inside and took out the mains again, when I took the PSU out of the case small melted parts came out of it so it put me off them.
The replacement failed the same but didn't take the mains out and no bits came out of the PSU I had a very hard job getting my money back, I lost faith in them because of those incidents.

that enermax looks surprisingly similar to my Be Quiet PSU. same shiny black finish, same gold fan grille, same colour of cable wrap. :S

What model Be Quiet do you have? I'll take a look at it if I can find a review.

I realise quality can vary by model, but all the reviews of the Be quiet range have been good so far, the main negitave thig is they are a bit pricey
