120mm fans for an Antec 300

Any suggestions for fans which can provide good airflow and low noise for the optional (3) fan bays ?

i always used to use panaflo fans, quiet good quality and move decent air.

Re: 120mm fans for an Antec 300

Depends what you want to spend. I've spent £2 on a fan that had been silent and lasted for 5 years, and I've spent £20 for a fan to fail 6 months later.

I now spend based on the noise of the fan, my case (Antec 900) is designed well enough to cope with all fans on a low setting.

Do a little research, get the cheapest/quietest you can, and replace them if they fail.

Nexus Silent Fan (1000rpm), Scythe Slipstream (500, 800 or 1200rpm, wouldn't run the last one of full blow though). Noctuas are a tick expensive and don't perform very well under high back-pressure (the one with the weird shovel-like blades). Scythe S-Flexs are on the pricy side as well.

For a PWM fan you could go for Arctic Cooling, or the Scythe Kama.

Why not go for antec's tri-cool fan?

    http://www.google.co.uk/products?q=a...N&hl=en&tab=wf

Not to expensive and you can adjust the speed without needing anything else. I had six running on my wc for years with not one failure

Re: 120mm fans for an Antec 300

Tri-cool's are ok but not great,
for low cost & quiet but not great air flow
    I like the Silverstone FN122 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/120mm...bearing-design
or the Sharkoon slient system fan http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/120mm...dB(A)-Case-Fan
If you have the cash then the Scythe S-FLEX 1200rpm (the 900rpm version is even quiter but the air flow is just not good enough for my likeing)

The one thing you must remember with fans is the basic rule, the lower the rpm the lower the noise and lower the air flow.
There are other issues that effect fan noise, frame material, blade ballance, baring type, blade shape but most of the time the biggest single factor is the rotational speed.
1000rpm or lower = near slient, low air flow
1200-1600rpm = mid range sound and air flow volume
1600rpm+ = high air flow but loud.

Both the Sharkoon and silverstone fans I've linked to are more quiet than the 1600rpm Scythe S-FLEX but don't move as much air.
The 900rpm Scythe S-FLEX is quieter but moves less air

However when you are looking at fans of the same rough rpm it's then when the other factors come in, often improveing the air flow, reduceing the vibrations or reduceing the noise.
