Tower Case - £200 to Spend
I have recentley overhauled my PC and decided after much reserach to keep my exisitng peripherals - so I now want to make 'my new innards' it look nicer - time for a new case!
I have had my CoolerMaster Stacker STC-T01 for about 41/2 years - and its been great - not the prettiest belle at the ball - but easy to work with - nice and big inside - and I like the size :)
Now I'd like to replace it with somthing that keeps all the qualities I am used to - but add some more style and better cooling potential. I LOVE the look of the TJ07B (V2 if that makes any difference??) - but slightly put off by the consensus that it's not that great as an air cooled chassis - and having been down the watercooled route once I don't really have the desire to do it again.
Theres also the new coolermaster ATC - but the Hexus review complains that it's a bit noisy - thats one other thing thats important to me - I like a quiet rig.
I have a good selection of recently purchased quiet fans so am not bothered what fans come in the case. Have never seen a lian Li in the flesh, so unsure on that angle, and would appreciate any feedback that you guys can give.

I would wait and see how much the Corsair Obsidian is going to be, its supposed to be around the £200 mark and its a damn fine case.

There are loads of offerings from Silverstone to consider. TJ09 is the better air cooling case between itself and the TJ07 and it looks even better imo.
THere the Fortress which is also a lovely case. If you want something a bit different there is the Raven which is the one which rotates the board so that the i/o sockets are the top.

I do have to ask, but what are you looking for in your case. You can get a decent full tower to just under £95 if you know where to look. :secret: OCUK *B-Grade* Clearance Lines
Are you look for design, build quality, noise reduction, thermal performance, or some other factor? :juggle: If you tell me that I can point you in the right direction to get the best case for you! :rockon2:

I was dead set on getting a Lian Li then i opted for the TJ09.
Its an awesome case and its pretty cool inside, +1 for the TJ09. Or you could wait and see how corsairs offering fairs when it comes out?

I want it all really!!
I want it to look good, Be Near Silent, Have plenty of space, easy to work with............
BUT i'm happy to pay a premium. So far it looks like Silverstone or Lian Li.

Does anyone use this in an aircooled rig ??? As I stated in my original post I was worried that Custom PC did not seem to get great performance aircooling with this case..........
I just LOVE the look of it so much.

Apart from the Window- Does the "V2" give any benefits, TBH i'd be happier w/o the window if there are no other differences.

I can't see you having massive issues with generating air flow in that case, it has been done before to good effect I'm sure. It's noise I would worry about and the noise/airflow trade off being so frickin large.
That said if you needed even more fans there are plenty of bays free to start adding more fans but keeping them spinning slowly. THat said.. more fans more noise however fast they are spinning really.

Hmmm, I have just got my CM Stacker (1st Gen) Cool and almost silent - it's just that i love the look of the Silverstone. Why do you suggest noise would be a problem - would it be that I would have to run my fans harder to get the air moving than in my stacker - thats hardly a small unit!!

Well no if you have a good thing going with the stacker then I dont see why the TJ07 would be all that different. There will always be better air cooling cases than the TJ07 that's just a sad fact you will need to come to terms with, but theres no reason why it wont be effective.

I know, if I was purely after the most efficient solution I would go for somthing like the Anted 1200 - but my vanity issues come ceeping back and I really want it to look the business and 'feel' special!

If you're willing to spent £200 then get what you think looks best, while still being half decent. The TJ07 may not be the best but it is still very good.

Looks pretty sweet, and the reviews I have read are all 'pretty' positive. It also seems to have less compromises - and if I decide to go back to the dark side and watercool my next build then it will do that nicely too. Planning to fit one of these:

and an optical drive, this makes 4 5.25 spaces out of 6, so I think that should work OK.
