    Hi Com87,

    Here is the update.

I completely rebuild the system. I removed the after market cooler and fitted the stock intel i7 one. Strapped two 80mm fans side by side on the exterior of the case on the cpu side to extract the air out as it becomes hot. I also removed the internal metal rail that runs on the graphics card side. This enabled me to fit a small and powerful 40mm mini fan to suck the extra heat out from the graphics card.

I think its about as good as im going to get on air. If you think other wise please let me know.

    The results of this. ??

I have speedstep enabled. I have a blck of 153 with turbo enabled. This gives me a max of 3.21ghz.
    Memory @ 1600mhz 9-9-9-24 1T. My 4870 idles @ 47degs.
My system now idles @ 50-48-48-47 cpu core temps. This is with HT enabled and the 153 clock. Im happoier but anything i could do extra would be a help.
I run prime 95 stress test for about 30mins. It was reaching 85 across all cores though. Still too high for my liking.

I do really like this case and its doing a job for me , but i feel im restricting the i7 on this mobo using this case for a long time. I might buy a CM690V2 along the line and whack this upto 4.2ghz.

Thanks to all those who posted in the thread. Any other ideas info still welcome.

    Hi ,

These are the only one's I have right now. Did them when building the system. The cable management is much better and i got about 4 extra fans installed since then.

I also managed to up the clock to 162 , which gives no extra core temps and 3.4ghz to boot when needed.

    Here they are:

Still not finished by a long way yet. Since i have set this up with my Panasonic 32" 1080i LCD TV and a creative 5.1 surround sound setup. Will get some more snaps done and update them. Enjoy.

The Core i5 would be ideal for this build and even the socket 1156 i7 processors as they have a lower TDP and run the RAM in dual channel.

    Hi

I am planning on building a i7 system on the silverstone SG04-H case.

How did you fit the Corsair H50 to the case?

Did you use the front where the 120mm intake fan is to mount the H50 fan and radiator or did you put them in some other place?

Are the tubes on the H50 long enough to reach the cpu?

    Very true.

I am happy I did though. Its a learning curve. I knew putting such hardcore components in such a small environment would be challenging to say the least. It would have run cooler , but I am happy with the 920 and the X58 matching so far.

The worst case senario is i buy a bigger case and clock it to 4ghz ..... With a WC setup ...

    Re: I7 920 into a Silverstone Sugo SG02 ?? Feasible ??

Well It got the better of me in the end. Due to the hot weather we been getting the past few weeks the idle temps rocketed upto 58-60degs. Anything with a load approached 90 degs. That is too much for me. Even if its within the thermal maximum. I have temporarily placed all this in my old tower case. Even with stock intel heatsink @ 3.4ghz in this hot weather it nearly reaches 60degs across all core. The idle is around 42 -46. So the case was the problem.

I will be ordering a CoolerMaster Dominator 690 v2 this week to cure this. I will also being looking to continue on my original route with another 6GB ram so totally upto 12GB and a Corsair H50 water cooling kit to boot.

Anybody know where I can get a H50 now. ?? Seems some of you already have them , Scan shows as pre order.

    Re: I7 920 into a Silverstone Sugo SG02 ?? Feasible ??

    Hi all ,

Just basically wanted to put this thread to bed. Maybe the i7 920 would have been a good build in another SFF case but no the SG02 from my experience.
But out of something bad comes something good. I learned a lot from this build and hope others can gather info from this thread looking to do the same thing but learn better.
I have been able to get my system fully made in a new tower , H50 WC cooler and a nice big 4GHZ clock to boot. I am extremely happy with this build and glad i moved back to tower form to enjoy my systems as i normally would. The next move for me is another 6GB totally 12GB DDR3 1600.

Many thanks goes to all those that posted in the thread. It was much appreciated.

Here is a few shots. Some old and some new. H50 installed and overlcocks achieved today.
