Dremel accessories and Drill bits sourcing/ADVICE

I'm aiming to try adding some holes in my case and mounting some fans (I have 6 x 80mm at the last count). This is my first modding experience and may post some pics and get some advice/further ideas. I'll fire away on the questions:-

Anyone know a good and preferably very cheap e-tailer for buying Dremel accessories? i have one on loan but it has no discs.

I am really after some dremel cutting discs I think its the 406, 429s or the other one.

If anyone has better/alternate reccomendations then please shout.

WRT to the drill bits what should I try and use to get through thin aluminium sheeting? I'm ok with masonry and wood but clueless about working with metal. These I can source form the local shop.

I do not have a drill stand but thought I could get round it by drilling through a piece of wood sandwiched ontop of the case to make sure I am going in at 90 degrees.

    Thanks for reading.

Metal cutting drill bits are best, however General purpose bits (for wood, metal & plastic) are best for the aluminium and mild steel of cases.
However you'll be very limited on the size of the bits you can use as rotary tools don't have variable chucks.
Why why I did project spork I borrowed a hand drill from work, I'd already found out my rotary tool couldn't use a bit large enough for case screws.
I don't know if a real dremel differs from my cheap rotary tool, but I'm pritty sure it's the same with two basic bit sizes.

For cutting discs don't go for a cheap load as I found out, they tend to be small, thin and very fragile.
I ended up getting these ones off flabay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/REINFORCED-CUT...d=p3286.c0.m14
They turned out to be very nice

Main things going for them, reinforced (a sort of fabric backing to both sides) 32mm diameter (larger discs cut for longer before wareing down and cut better), width 1.2mm (thicker discs are less fragile)

    here's another fleabay link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/100-x-Reinforc...d=p3286.c0.m14

You can get diamond cut off wheels (cut off wheels = cutting discs) but they tend to be far more expensive. £20+ for under 10

For drill bits something like this would probably be right
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/8pc-HSS-Drill-...d=p3286.c0.m14
However the issue you may have is that on one or two of them will fit and you probably don't need the others.

Look around for a local builders supply merchant, they can probably sell you drill bits singly is the sizes you need, then you can get two of 3 of each size incase you ether shear or blunt one. (although they are less likely to sell rotary tool bits)
I found a very handy one close by that I found very handy for the odd small thing I needed.

EDIT: ps hand drills are dirt cheap http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DOUBLE-PINION-...d=p3286.c0.m14
Not that good if you're drilling lots and lots of holes, esp through thick material where the holes has to be dead stright, but for just a few holes they are fine.

B&Q do a £8.99 own brand pack that includes a variety of bits for the dremel. I brought this for when I was modding my Lian Li Pc-A70 case. It comes with metal cutting discs along with many other discs and bits. Came with about 72 bits I think.

I try and stay away from BQ; worked there as a lad and it gives me depression everytime I go in one.

Good buy though; thanks for the tip. I'll send the missus.

I just checked the pieces I have left from when I brought my pack and it must have been about 30 pieces. I think I over guessed with 72.
