    Quiet red LED fan.

Well I've got an Akasa 120mm RED LED Case fan used as the intake. (My case has a 120mm intake, 120mm side intake, Akasa 965 as CPU cooler and 92mm exhaust fan - all fan slots filled up)

But as my unit is right next to me, I find the intake fan slightly loud as it's the closest to me. Now I love the red LED as it's in the front and thus gives me case a "cool" look but as I said it's slightly loud so are there any other quieter alternatives or am I better off just buying a fan controller instead?

EDIT: Hmm read this http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/200...est-case-fan/1 and it seems that the Akasa is the best RED LED 120mm can you could pretty much get.

    Re: Quiet red LED fan.

    What case have you got?

Have you checked to see if it's noise caused by air being pulled through the intake that's causing added noise?

You'll probably be best off with one of thoes little fan adaptors that slows a fan down.
    eg

    Re: Quiet red LED fan.

I've just got one of those cheap ones (Casecom I believe)

Hmm too bad delivery is still £3.99 for a piece of wire :/ Maybe I'll check if my local Maplin or something has it. If not I'll grab a cheap fan controller off Ebuyer as their delivery charges are fairer and so if I play a game or something I can use it and when I'm just browsing the web/watching something I'll turn the fans down.

    Re: Quiet red LED fan.

Play.com have got a red led coolermaster fan
    http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/822936...d/Product.html
But as it's the same rpm I duobt it'll be much different from the akasa one you have

They do free shipping on everything (great for getting the single odd cheap thing) but there search system SUCKS couldn't see a fan voltage adaptor on there off hand.
I'd look for one on fleabay
