    help with silverstone TJ05 case

Lost the key for the front of this case so cannot replace the stock 120mm fan with a quieter one I've got. Also stops access to any other bays on front of case.

I've emailed silverstone twice about a replacement one and have never heard back.

Anyone know where I can get hold of 1 or another key that would fit(it's a cylinder lock with 2 notches in it).
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

If it's really simple, pick the lock with something like a hairclip thats bent out.

Re: help with silverstone TJ05 case

I know this is an ancient thread. But tonight I was facing the same problem. I had lost the key to my Silverstone TJ05, and I was going to put in a new case fan.

I managed to pick the lock with a small 1 mm screwdriver like this:

    h t t p ://dose.se/1mm_screwdriver.jpg

It was actually quite easy. Just use a screwdriver like the one above and push down one of the four pins inside the lock. Then while holding the pin pushed in, apply a constant force to the plastic hook of the lock on the inside of the case. Then release the pin and see if it sticks in a pushed in position. If it doesn't, try with the next pin. Once you find one that will stick, try to find one of the remaining three pins that now will stick.

Repeat this procedure one last time. After you've done this, the lock should now open once you push the last remaining pin. Here's an illustration:

    h t t p ://dose.se/lock.jpg

Just thought I'd post this here in case anyone is in the same situation.

PS. Sorry about the URLs above, since this is my first post to this forum I wasn't allowed to post URLs. I had to edit them to fool the system. Just remove the spaces in the http part and they'll work. DS.
